Outpatient Neurology & Neurosurgery Clinic
Shaping The Future of Healthcare
At UNI, education is at the core of our mission. As Bakersfield’s academic neurology center, we train residents, students, and clinical staff through direct experience in patient care and advanced neuroscience. This commitment not only prepares the next generation of providers but also ensures our community benefits from a culture of continual learning and innovation.
Where innovation meets education
Through our collaboration with Morehouse School of Medicine and our active training programs, our clinic is also a place of learning. Residents, fellows, medical students, and clinical trainees work alongside our Neurologists and Neurosurgeons regularly — contributing to a culture of rigor and continuous improvement that benefits every patient we see.

Common questions
FAQ SECTION
What should I bring to my first visit?
Bring your medications or an up-to-date medication list. Also tell us if you’ve had recent imaging (MRI/CT), especially if it was done out of town, so we can request it.
Do you do EEG tests here?
Yes. EEGs are performed in-office and interpreted by our physicians.
If my EEG is normal, does that rule out seizures?
No. EEG is a snapshot in time. Results are interpreted alongside your symptoms and history.
Do you do MRI or CT scans at your clinic?
No. Imaging is done at partner facilities. We review the reports and, when available, the images.
Do you implant VNS or RNS devices here?
No. Implant surgery is done through partner hospitals. We provide follow-up visits and adjust device settings as needed.
Is Botox used for migraines or just cosmetic purposes?
Botox is a medical treatment for chronic migraine. It’s given on a scheduled protocol and tracked for response over time.
