Dr. Jesse J. Savage earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Biology from Purdue University and his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Neurological Surgery at the University of Virginia under the mentorship of Dr. John Jane, Sr., and his international fellowship in Skull Base and Open Cerebrovascular Surgery at Auckland City Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand. He currently serves as President of Sequoia Brain & Spine in partnership with United Neuroscience.

Dr. Savage specializes in cranial base tumors including pituitary tumors, meningiomas, schwannomas, and chordomas, as well as cerebrovascular disorders, aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), carotid occlusive disease, and stroke. He also treats spinal disorders including tumors, degenerative disc disease, spinal cord compression, and peripheral nerve entrapment syndromes.

Dr. Savage has ongoing laboratory research interests in the development and regulation of the pituitary gland and the molecular etiology of Cushing’s Disease and AVMs. He and his family moved to Bakersfield with the goal of expanding local neurosurgical services for the community. In his free time, Jesse enjoys racquet sports, triathlon, and vinyl record collecting.
