About

Dr. Nicholas E. Tarlov is a board-certified neurologist specializing in stroke, vascular neurology, and interventional neuroradiology. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biology, cum laude, from Harvard University and his medical degree from the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine. He completed his internship at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Boston and his neurology residency at USC, where he was elected Chief Resident and received the Golden Hammer Neurology Award for academic excellence.

Dr. Tarlov completed his interventional neuroradiology fellowship at Boston University and was awarded a Phillippe Foundation Grant for an additional year of training in arteriovenous malformations and complex aneurysms at L’Hôpital Lariboisière in Paris, France — a referral center for patients from around the world.

An accomplished researcher, Dr. Tarlov has co-authored 21 peer-reviewed articles and abstracts and contributed to major stroke treatment trials including the RESPECT ESUS and POINT studies. He has served as director of stroke and interventional neurology at Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura, California, and is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is highly proficient in Spanish and fluent in French, and is passionate about expanding access to quality stroke care in underserved communities.
