About
Dr. Omar Choudhury is a board-certified Neurologist with specialist training in Vascular Neurology after having completed his fellowship at Henry Ford Health. He previously served as Chief Resident in the Department of Neurology at Henry Ford Health, where he completed his residency and developed a strong foundation in clinical excellence, leadership, and academic scholarship.
Dr. Choudhury earned his Doctor of Medicine from Saba University School of Medicine and holds a Bachelor of Science in Anatomy and Cell Biology from McGill University. His clinical expertise includes the diagnosis and management of stroke, cerebrovascular disease, headache, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders, and autoimmune encephalitis, as well as skills in interpreting EEG and EMG/NCS, performing lumbar punctures, transcranial Doppler, carotid ultrasound, and assisting in endovascular procedures such as thrombectomy.
An active physician-scientist, Dr. Choudhury has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications on stroke and atrial fibrillation, non-stenosing carotid artery disease, and neurologic complications of systemic illness. He has presented his work at the International Stroke Conference and the Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology.
Committed to medical education, mentorship, and health equity, Dr. Choudhury has served on residency academic and wellness committees, participated in global health efforts in Bangladesh and Costa Rica, and contributed to community health initiatives across the United States and Canada. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, American Heart Association, and Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology.
