UNI Epilepsy & Neurophysiology
Epilepsy & Neurophysiology
Advanced seizure evaluation, EEG diagnostics, and comprehensive epilepsy management — including advanced therapies for refractory cases.
Seizure Evaluation & Diagnosis
Careful characterization of seizure type, frequency, and triggers — using detailed history, neurological examination, EEG, and neuroimaging — with attention to conditions that mimic epilepsy.
In-Office EEG Testing & Interpretation
EEGs are performed and interpreted by our fellowship-trained epileptologists. We evaluate for epileptiform activity, encephalopathy, and a broad range of neurophysiologic conditions — with direct physician interpretation and timely results.
Long-Term Epilepsy Management & Advanced Therapies
For patients with medication-refractory epilepsy, we provide ongoing management and evaluation for advanced interventions — including Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS), Responsive Neurostimulation (RNS), and Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) — coordinating closely with surgical and device specialists.
OUR APPROACH
Comprehensive Seizure Care, Close to Home
Our epilepsy and neurophysiology specialists combine clinical expertise with the latest electrophysiologic tools to provide comprehensive seizure care. We treat patients across the spectrum — from new-onset events to complex refractory epilepsy — and work in close collaboration with our inpatient neurology and Neurocritical Care teams to ensure seamless management during hospitalizations. We also provide EEG directorship services for our hospital partners.
Our fellowship-trained epileptologists perform and interpret all EEG studies in-house, ensuring accurate, timely results that directly inform clinical decisions. For patients who have not responded to multiple anti-seizure medications, we offer comprehensive evaluation for advanced device therapies — including Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS), Responsive Neurostimulation (RNS), and Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) — and coordinate closely with surgical specialists to optimize long-term outcomes.
