Neurointerventional Surgery
Minimally invasive endovascular procedures for stroke, aneurysms, and cerebrovascular conditions — guided by current AHA/ASA and SVIN guidelines.
Precision endovascular care — because millimeters matter.
Pioneering the Region
United Neuroscience was among the first groups to bring endovascular stroke treatment to Bakersfield and the Central Valley. We continue to lead the region in catheter-based neurological intervention — incorporating the latest trial data and society guidelines into every treatment decision.
Comprehensive Endovascular Expertise
Our fellowship-trained neurointerventionalists perform mechanical thrombectomy — including in extended-window cases guided by CT perfusion and penumbra mapping — aneurysm coiling, carotid stenting, AVM embolization, and other advanced catheter-based procedures.
Integrated Stroke Pipeline
Seamless coordination between our telestroke network, emergency departments, and interventional suite ensures that from the moment a stroke is identified, our team is moving. Informed by DAWN, DEFUSE-3, and emerging large core trial data, we pursue every opportunity to salvage ischemic penumbra — because we do not give up on patients.
Endovascular Neurology: Advancing What's Possible
The past two decades have transformed the treatment of cerebrovascular conditions. United Neuroscience has been at the forefront of this evolution in our region — and we continue to advance. Our neurointerventional team applies current AHA/ASA and SVIN standards rigorously, incorporates emerging evidence on large core infarction management and anticoagulation strategies, and uses CT perfusion to identify salvageable penumbra and expand treatment eligibility beyond traditional time windows. We work in close, integrated partnership with our vascular Neurologists, Neurosurgeons, and Neurocritical Care specialists — ensuring every patient benefits from a true team approach.
Our Endovascular Services
Mechanical Thrombectomy
Rapid endovascular clot retrieval for large vessel occlusion stroke — including extended-window cases with confirmed salvageable penumbra on CT perfusion.
Cerebral Aneurysm Treatment
Endovascular coiling and flow diversion for ruptured and unruptured brain aneurysms, in close coordination with our vascular Neurosurgeons.
Carotid & Intracranial Stenting
Catheter-based revascularization for symptomatic stenosis not adequately managed with medical therapy alone.
AVM & Vascular Malformation Embolization
Pre-surgical embolization and definitive endovascular treatment of cerebral arteriovenous malformations and dural fistulae.
CT Perfusion & Extended-Window Stroke Treatment
We use CT perfusion imaging to identify salvageable brain tissue — the ischemic penumbra — enabling treatment decisions up to 24 hours after symptom onset, informed by DAWN, DEFUSE-3, and emerging large core infarction trial data. We do not give up on patients with salvageable tissue.
